Trial, Plan, and Billing Basics

The `Billing` page is where owners start a trial, subscribe, manage seats, and open the Stripe customer portal. You may still see `Copilot Audit` on some billing screens.

The Billing page is where owners start a trial, subscribe, manage seats, and open the Stripe customer portal. You may still see Copilot Audit on some billing screens.

Who this is for

  • Organization owners

  • Admins preparing a purchase with finance

Before you begin

  • Only owners can manage billing

  • Billing lives in the dashboard, not the Excel add-in

  • Stripe handles seat and invoice actions

How to do it

  1. Open the dashboard and click Billing.

  2. If there is no active plan, review Choose a plan.

  3. Set Number of users and the Billing cycle.

  4. Click Start free trial, Subscribe now, or Talk with us.

  5. If your trial is active, use Set up payment if you want to avoid a gap later.

  6. If you already pay, use Open customer portal.

  7. Review Seat management and Invoices.

Expected result

  • Owners can open Billing without an access error

  • Trial or paid-plan status is clear

  • Seat counts match the team you want to support

Avoid this

  • Opening Billing with a non-owner account

  • Trying to reduce seats below active member count

  • Expecting self-serve purchases above 100 seats

If it still doesn't work

  • If the portal is unavailable, retry once

  • If seat reductions are blocked, remove or disable access first in Users
