If the add-in stops you before normal work starts, the blocker usually falls into one of four buckets: lost snips, a license already active on another device, subscription access, or workbook access limits.
Who this is for
Add-in users blocked before they can work in Excel
Teams recovering missing snips after reopening a workbook
Owners helping users who cannot get past access screens
Before you begin
You may still see
Copilot Auditon some block pages or older labelsStay inside the Excel add-in while you work through the steps.
If you were invited recently, confirm you signed in with the same work email that received the invite.
How to do it
Recover lost snips first, if Blast Audit offers it.
If you see a Restore badge or a dialog titled Lost snips found, Blast Audit found cells with snip colors but no stored snips.
Open Restore, choose the best match for each cell, then click Restore selected.
If a row says Table recovery isn't supported yet., that snip type must be recreated manually.
Clear a
License already in useblock.
If the page title says License already in use, your Blast Audit session is still active on another device.
Close Excel, or at least close the add-in, on the other device.
Wait for the retry timer, then click Retry.
Clear a subscription block.
If the page says An active subscription is required, click Open dashboard.
Start or renew access in the dashboard, return to Excel, then click I've subscribed.
If the screen says subscription verification is temporary, use Retry verification.
Fix workbook access issues.
If the add-in shows Copilot Audit is unavailable right now, read the issue list carefully.
Common blockers are Copilot Audit is in read-only mode., This workbook is read-only or locked by another user., Workbook protection is enabled. Disable protection to continue., or Copilot Audit couldn’t save snips. Check write access and try again.
Fix document read-only mode if needed.
In Documents, the add-in can show You are viewing documents in read-only mode. Sign in to import or edit documents.
Exit read-only mode or sign in again with the correct account.
Use support only after you know which block you have.
The fix depends on the exact screen.
Restore, License already in use, An active subscription is required, and workbook access warnings all point to different root causes.
Expected result
Lost snips are restored or clearly identified for manual recreation
The add-in leaves the block screen and returns to normal navigation
You can open
Documents,Document Matching, or other pages without another access warning
Avoid this
Clicking
Retryfor a license block before closing Excel on the other deviceRenewing access in the wrong organization, then returning to Excel unchanged
Treating
Table recovery isn't supported yet.as a general restore failureWorking in a protected or read-only workbook and expecting snips to save normally
If it still doesn't work
Take a screenshot of the full block page, including the title and buttons
Note the account email and organization email you used to sign in
